Nonlinear Dynamics in a Duffing Oscillatory Circuit

Abstract: In this presentation, the periodic motionsin a Duffing oscillatory system is studied through both experiments and analytical predictions. For experiments, a Duffing oscillatory circuit is built based on the equation of motion. And experimental data of various periodic motions are obtained. For analytical prediction, the semi-analytical method using discrete implicit maps is adopted to predict periodic trajectories. Using the same parameters, analytical predictions of the corresponding periodic motions are obtained with N=1024 discrete nodes per excitation period. Finally, both trajectories and harmonic amplitudes for such periodic motions are illustrated.And comparison between the experimental data and analytical predictions are carried out.
